Darren Kent, an actor who was in Game of Thrones, Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, EastEnders, and other shows, has sadly died at 36 years old on Friday.
On Tuesday, the talent agency Carey Dodd Associates shared on Twitter that Darren Kent had passed away.
“We feel very sad to let you know that our close friend and client Darren Kent passed away calmly on Friday. His parents and best friend were with him.
We are thinking of his family and sending them our love during this hard time. Rest in peace, my friend,” the agency said in a message.
Darren grew up in Essex and finished school at Italia Conti in 2007. He started his acting journey with a horror movie called Mirrors in 2008.
After that, he had a small role as a goatherd in Slavers Bay on an episode of Game of Thrones. More recently, he acted as a revived body in the movie Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which came out in 2023.
He did many other jobs too, like Snow White and the Huntsman, Marshal’s Law, Bloody Cuts, The Frankenstein Chronicles, Blood Drive, Les Misérables, Green Fingers, EastEnders, Happy Hours, Love Without Walls, and Birds Sorrow.
In 2012, Darren won the best actor award at the Van D’or Awards for playing Danny, a young boy with a rare skin condition that made sunlight dangerous, in the movie Sunny Boy.
What’s interesting is that Darren had his own skin problem, as well as osteoporosis and arthritis, just like the character he played.
And on top of acting, Darren was also good at writing and directing. He directed a short movie called You Know Me in 2021, and it got an award in January.
