Season 2 of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki will arrive sooner than we first said. Right now, everyone’s excited about Season 2 of Disney+’s Loki. It continues the story of Tom Hiddleston’s character, Loki, and Owen Wilson’s character, Mobius.
The show’s promotion has started. They released a new trailer that shows Jonathan Majors as Victor Timely, and they even let a special group watch the first 10 minutes of the first episode.
But here’s the thing: The press tour for Loki Season 2 won’t have any of the main actors like Hiddleston, Wilson, or Sophia Di Martino. This is because there are strikes going on by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA).
Loki Season 2’s New Release Date
Marvel Studios shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Season 2 of Loki will now come out on Thursday, October 5, at 9:00 p.m. ET (6:00 p.m. PT). This is a change from the previous release date of Friday, October 6.

It’s also worth noting that this new release time is different from the usual 3:00 a.m. ET release time for previous Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Disney+ shows.
According to the official press release for Loki Season 2, all the following episodes will also be released on Thursday evenings at 9:00 p.m. ET.
If Marvel Studios and Disney+ release only one episode for Season 2’s launch, then Episode 2 will come out on October 12, Episode 3 on October 19, Episode 4 on October 26, Episode 5 on November 2, and the season finale (Episode 6) will be released on November 9.
Loki’s Close Encounter With The Marvels
If Marvel Studios chooses to release only one episode on Thursday, October 6 for the start of Season 2 of Loki, it would mean that the season finale will be on Disney+ just one day before The Marvels hits theaters.
Typically, many films, including The Marvels, become available in theaters on Thursday night, often around the same time that the Loki finale will be released on the streaming platform. This might seem a bit unusual, especially given the significance of both Loki and The Marvels.
To avoid this overlap, a simple solution would be for Marvel Studios to have a two-episode premiere for Loki Season 2. In that case, the finale would come out on Thursday, November 2, a full week before The Marvels is released in theaters.
This approach has been used by other Disney+ shows in the past, with the most recent example being Star Wars’ Ahsoka.
As of now, there’s no official confirmation about whether Loki will indeed have a two-episode premiere. However, if Marvel Studios wants to avoid overlapping with The Marvels, that’s likely what they’ll do. Season 2 of Loki is set to premiere on Disney+ on Thursday, October 5, at 9 p.m. ET.
