Maruti Suzuki has introduced its latest and most important product, the Invicto MPV. The starting price for the base Zeta+ trim is Rs 24.79 lakh (introduction offer, excluding taxes, in India). The Invicto MPV will be available in two trims: Zeta+ and Alpha+. You can choose between two seating configurations as well.
- Maruti Invicto is based on the Toyota Innova Hycross
- It is the first Maruti Suzuki to be automatic only
Here is a detailed break up of the prices of the Invicto:
Variants | Price |
Zeta+ 7-Seater | Rs 24.79 lakh |
Zeta+ 8-Seater | Rs 24.84 lakh |
Alpha+ 7-Seater | Rs 28.42 lakh |
The Invicto is created based on the Toyota Innova Hycross. Just like the Grand Vitara and Hyryder, it will be manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant, where the Hycross is also produced. The Invicto is now the eighth product available at Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa dealership.
Maruti Suzuki Invicto exterior
The Invicto is quite similar to the Hycross in terms of design. The front part has a slightly different grille with two thick, horizontal chrome slats that stretch into the headlights. The headlights have Nexa’s three-block signature daytime running lamps, and there’s a unique front bumper and faux skid plates.
When you look at both MPVs from the side, the only noticeable difference is the design of the 17-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the Invicto’s tail-lights also have Nexa’s three-block design. Other than that, the Invicto and Hycross look very much alike, with only the Maruti Suzuki, Invicto, and hybrid badges as the distinguishing features.
In terms of size, the Invicto has the same dimensions as the Innova Hycross. It’s 4,755mm long, 1,850mm wide, and 1,795mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,850mm.
Maruti Suzuki Invicto interior and features
Inside the Invicto and the Innova Hycross, you’ll find many similar features. The Innova Hycross has black and brown interiors with silver accents, while the Invicto has an all-black interior with Champagne Gold accents. The rest of the interior is just like the Toyota version and can be chosen with either seven or eight seats. The Invicto has 239 liters of boot space, which can be expanded up to 690 liters by folding down the third row.
As for its cool features, the Invicto has a 10.1-inch touchscreen that connects wirelessly to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof with roof ambient lighting, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, cupholders, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and more than 50 Suzuki Connect features.
Safety is important, too! The Invicto comes with six airbags as standard, ABS, an electronic parking brake, stability control, and hill start assist to keep everyone safe on the road.
Maruti Suzuki Invicto powertrain and platform
Underneath the Invicto’s hood, you’ll find a powerful hybrid powertrain. It has a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine connected to an electric motor. Together, they produce 184 horsepower, and the power is managed by an e-CVT automatic transmission. This makes the Invicto the first Maruti Suzuki model to be both hybrid-only and automatic-only. Since it’s a strong-hybrid, it can also run on electric power alone.
The Invicto is built on the same platform as the Toyota Innova Hycross, using Toyota’s TNGA-C ‘High’ platform with a monocoque chassis. The engine is placed sideways and sends power to the front wheels. It’s claimed to go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 9.5 seconds and has a fuel efficiency of around 23.24 kilometers per liter.
Maruti Suzuki Invicto rivals
The Invicto will directly compete with the Toyota Innova Hycross. It could have also competed with the Kia Carnival, but the Carnival was recently stopped because it didn’t meet the strict BS6 Phase 2 norms.
If you’re looking at similar three-row SUVs in the same price range, you can compare the Invicto with vehicles like the Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio N, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari.
