The Mega Millions jackpot has gotten even bigger and is now estimated to be around $720 million. In the recent drawing on Tuesday, no tickets matched all the white balls and the gold Mega Ball.
The Mega Millions is one of two national lotteries that offer huge jackpots, but the chances of winning them are extremely low.
Here are the numbers that were drawn in Tuesday’s drawing:
19, 22, 31, 37, 54 and gold Mega Ball 18.
In the upcoming drawing, there’s a big jackpot of around $720 million. But here’s the thing: to get the full amount, the winner would have to choose to receive it over 29 years as smaller payments over time.
Most winners actually decide to take a one-time cash payout instead. For the drawing on Tuesday night, the cash payout is estimated to be around $369.6 million.
This $720 million jackpot is the seventh largest in the history of the Mega Millions game. That’s what Mega Millions announced in a statement.
Even though the chances of winning the Mega Millions game are really low, with odds of 1 in 302.6 million, people still buy tickets because the grand prize keeps getting bigger.
The last time someone won the top prize in Mega Millions was on April 18th.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states across the United States, including Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Powerball jackpot is also increasing and is now estimated to be around $1 billion. The next Powerball drawing will take place on Wednesday night.
