Popular Punjabi singer Surinder Shinda dies at 64

Ludhiana: Famous Punjabi singer Surinder Shinda passed away on Wednesday. He was 64 years old. He had been getting medical care at DMCH in Ludhiana.
The hospital official confirmed that he died on Wednesday morning. Surinder Shinda had been on a ventilator for many days before he passed away.
He had lots of popular songs like ‘Jatt Jeona Morh,’ ‘Putt Jattan de,’ and ‘Truck Billiya.’ He was also in Punjabi movies like ‘Putt Jattan De‘ and ‘Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da.’
His real name was Surinder Pal Dhammi. He is survived by his son, Maninder Shinda, and he came from Choti Ayali village in Ludhiana.
A lot of people, like singers and politicians, felt really sad about Shinda’s passing.
The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, tweeted, “I am very saddened to hear about the famous singer Surinder Shinda ji’s death… The voice of Punjab has now become silent forever.”

The leader of Shiromani Akali Dal, Sukhbir Singh Badal, said that the singer’s contribution to Punjabi music was very valuable and couldn’t be measured.

In a message, Badal sent his heartfelt sympathies to the fans and family of the legendary Punjabi singer Surinder Shinda.
He mentioned that Shinda’s contribution to Punjabi music was very valuable and he had a very powerful voice. Shinda Ji will be missed by millions of fans worldwide. May his soul rest in peace.
Singer-actor Harbhajan Mann also felt very sad about Shinda’s passing, saying that Punjabi music has lost someone special and it’s a loss that can never be replaced. Mann referred to it as the end of the golden era of Punjabi folk singing.
Shinda is survived by his son, Maninder Shinda, who is also a musician.
