The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 will be available for the first time on August 18. If you signed up to buy it before, you’ll get it before others who buy it on that day.
I tried the phone for a week and found five cool things about it that you might like. But I’ll also mention two things you might want to know before deciding. So here are five reasons to get the foldable phone and two reasons you might not want to get it.
New Hinge Mechanism
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 might look similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 on the outside, but you can feel the real difference when you hold both in your hands.
I tried comparing them by holding each one, and I quickly noticed that the Fold 5 is much lighter and smaller compared to the Fold 4. It only weighs 253 grams now. When it’s folded, the Fold 5 is only 13.4 mm thick.
The way the phone folds now is really neat. When I first tried to open it, it was a bit tough and I had to push a little to make it unfold. But the more I used it, the easier it became.
Now, when I open it, it’s very smooth, and the best part is that it doesn’t make any noise. Before, it used to make creaking sounds, but not anymore. This new way of folding makes it feel like a really fancy and smooth experience for me.
The 7.6-Inch Screen is a Delight for Movie Lovers
Just open it up, and there you have it – a huge 7.6-inch screen. It’s like having a small movie theater. I really enjoyed watching videos and playing games on it.
It felt like I was right inside the game or the movie. It’s great for those times when you want to watch a lot of your favorite shows in a row.
Super Fast and Super Smooth Performance
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which was made just for the Galaxy series. I could use many apps at the same time without any issues.
It’s like a pro at doing lots of things together. Changing between apps was really easy, and everything worked really well without any hiccups.
Good Battery Life Despite Multiple Screens
I was amazed by the battery. It stayed alive the whole day, even when I used it a lot. I was scrolling through social media, watching videos, and playing games.
I didn’t need to be concerned about the battery dying. And when it’s time to charge, it does a pretty good job if you use the right 25W fast charger that goes with it.
Cool Camera Tricks
I had a good time taking pictures with the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It has different camera lenses that let me be creative. I could take clear and colorful photos. Even when it was not very bright, the pictures still looked nice.
Getting Used to the Narrow Screen
When I began using the cover screen, it felt a bit unusual. It’s not as wide as regular phones, so the icons and the keyboard looked smaller and somewhat crowded.
Even when I tried to make things bigger, only the text got larger, not the keyboard or icons. But over time, I got used to the smaller space. If you’re coming from a regular phone, it might take some getting used to the cover screen.
However, this is not a big problem, and you can adjust to it with a little time.
The Price May not be Suitable for Everyone
The Galaxy Z Fold 5’s big screen and cool features might catch your attention, but it’s not inexpensive. Actually, it has a high cost of Rs 1,64,999 for the 512GB version.
While I didn’t see any problems with the phone itself, the price could be a problem for some people. If that’s the case, they might want to think about the smaller, more affordable Z Flip 5 instead.
